What You Can Expect

Decades of Experience and Local Knowledge

Our guides know these tracks intimately. Years of navigating remote country, reading weather, and working with local communities mean you're travelling with people who understand the land.

Everything You Need, Already Prepared

Vehicles are purpose-equipped. Swags and camping gear are provided. Food is fresh, well-planned, and cooked on the road. You bring yourself and your sense of adventure—we handle the rest.

Personal Guidance in Small Groups

Maximum of 3 vehicles per trip. Each vehicle is yours for the journey—you won't be placed with strangers. This keeps the experience personal and the environment undisturbed.

Access to Places Few Ever See

We take you beyond the tourist routes to hidden gorges, private stations, and coastal stretches that most visitors never reach. These are places we've come to know over years of exploration.

Small Groups, Big Experiences

With a maximum of 3 vehicles per trip, our adventures stay personal. Each vehicle is yours for the journey—you won't be placed with strangers. This keeps the experience intimate and allows us to access places larger groups simply can't reach.

Common Questions

A few of the things people most often ask before booking. Click any question for the detail.

Can I participate in a Proudback tour if I don't have 4WD experience?

Absolutely! No prior 4WD experience is required. Our experienced guides provide comprehensive briefings and are with you every step of the way, offering guidance and support throughout the journey. You'll quickly gain confidence behind the wheel.

We are keen to join a Proudback tour, however my partner doesn't drive. Is that an issue?

Not at all! Many couples join us where only one person drives. The non-driving partner can relax and enjoy the scenery, help with navigation, and take photos. We also encourage swapping drivers within your vehicle if both are comfortable.

Am I expected to be fit to participate in Proudback's tours?

A moderate level of fitness is recommended as tours involve some walking on uneven terrain and getting in/out of vehicles. However, we tailor activities to group capabilities and always offer alternatives. If you have concerns about fitness requirements, please contact us to discuss the specific tour you're interested in.

What does the tour price include?

Tour prices include vehicle hire (fully equipped 4WD), all camping equipment (swags, chairs, tables), all meals from lunch on day one to lunch on the final day, park entry fees, experienced guide services, satellite communications, and comprehensive tour briefings. Flights, travel insurance, and personal items are not included.
